Mr. Donat was born in Elgin, Illinois. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Roosevelt University. He also minored in Legal Studies and obtained his Paralegal Certificate. While at Roosevelt, Mr. Donat faithfully served as a Student Trustee on the Board of Trustees and was the first student to ever be voted to serve a two-year term. After graduating, he acquired his Juris Doctor degree from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois.

While attending The John Marshall Law School and before joining Ripes, Nelson, Baggot & Kalobratsos, P.C., as an attorney, Mr. Donat worked at the firm as a paralegal and law clerk where he gained extensive experience in all phases of civil litigation. As an attorney, his focus is representing clients in the defense of property loss and bodily injury claims with an emphasis on automobile negligence, premises liability, construction negligence, subrogation, product liability and uninsured/underinsured motorist. In addition, Mr. Donat is knowledgeable in real estate transactional matters.

Mr. Donat is admitted to practice law in the State of Illinois. His professional affiliations include the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association.

When not advocating for his clients, Mr. Donat enjoys spending time with his family and friends, working out, boating, and being outdoors.
